1.After Jesse James’ death in 1882, his mother bought many second hand guns, and would sell them claiming them to have belonged to Jesse, leading many people to believe they owned a gun that had belonged to the infamous outlaw.

2.A millionaire who announced he would bury his Bentley for his afterlife. After lots of negative reaction, he revealed the publicity stunt about organ donations. “People bury things that are much more valuable then cars and nobody seems to care”.

3.There are two houses in Florida that share a backyard fence, but the shortest driving route between them takes 20 minutes and traverses more than 7 miles.

4.Starting in 1945, more than 8,000 Dutch people have adopted the grave of an American WWII soldier buried at Margraten, Netherlands. They visit regularly with flowers and graves are passed to the next generation. There is a waiting list to adopt a grave.

5.A man flipped off a woman while entering a Utah Freeway, and proceeded to have his middle finger shot off by her with a .357-caliber revolver. The man tried to follow the woman, but lost her and so he went to seek medical help.

7.In 2012, a man sacrificed his kidney in order to save his younger sister but his efforts ended in vain when a nurse mistakenly disposed the donated organ. Despite the success of the kidney transplant 3 months later, the family sued the hospital for their negligence.

8.The September 11 terror attacks on the WTC released a dust cloud of toxic asbestos fibers across Manhattan. An estimated 410,000 people have been exposed. It is believed lung cancer and mesothelioma cases in the city will reach a peak in the year 2041 (four decades after 9/11).

9.In 1984, a 1-year-old received a heart transplant from a baboon but ended up dying 21 days later due to rejection. When questioned with why a baboon and not a primate more closely related to humans, the surgeon said he didn’t believe in evolution.

10.While the Titanic only had enough life boats to hold 1/3 of passengers, she was actually carrying more lifeboats than were legally required. That’s because lifeboats were intended to ferry survivors from a sinking ship to a rescuing ship—not keep afloat the whole population.
